Vitamin Bee is Plant-Based 🌱
All our organic cotton garments - and biodegradable phone cases - will one day return to the earth and biodegrade, keeping the oceans clean. What's more, we'll ensure your plant-based products arrive to you in plastic free packaging ♡
Vitamin Bee is Pesticide Free 🐝
WHO estimates that over 350,000 people are annually killed by pesticide poisoning - not to even count those who die from chronic diseases associated with pesticide exposure.
A large proportion of pesticides reach a destination other than their target. Pesticides contaminate the land, air and soil as they run off from agricultural land. Pesticides have been particularly linked to global declines in bee and pollinator numbers:
- Around 1/3 of the food we eat, and 80% of European wildflowers, rely on pollination, mainly by bees
- Bees allow plants to fruit, set seed and breed, providing food and habitat for a range of other creatures
- If we kill insects at the bottom of the chain, we kill the animals higher up
Organic cotton is grown without toxic chemicals, using
88% less water and 62% less energy. All our garments, including t-shirts, beanies, and tote bags, are made from 100% certified organic cotton. Our beanies carry an OCS100 certification, whilst our t-shirts and tote bags are GOTS certified.
For each item sold, we will donate 50p to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust.
Vitamin Bee is for Fair Fashion ✅Did you know that around 85% of garment workers are not paid the minimum wage, instead given a piece rate of around 2-6 cents per item. Fair Wear checks working conditions in textile factories and parties in the supply chain responsible for the conditions in which our t-shirts are made. Organic certification on our t-shirts and totes includes further strict social criteria.
Vitamin Bee is Climate Positive 🌍
So far this year, we've helped plant 58 trees and counting, and remove 3.5 tonnes of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. You can check out our forest growing here.
